Pakistan Seeks Help Pakistan Floods have Affected over 30 Million People

Flood Situation in Pakistan: In terms of casualties and damage to infrastructure, the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan have taken the worst hits. Over 3,600 kilometers of roads and 145 bridges have been damaged or destroyed, preventing travel across flood-affected regions and killing millions of cattle, most of which died in the province of Balochistan. More than 17,560 educational facilities suffered some kind of destruction. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the Pakistani Army, and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority are all trying to help those impacted, but the increasing number of homeless and displaced families means that there is a “dire” need for shelter and assistance. Sindh, which has been severely affected by the floods, has called for 1 million tents, while Balochistan, a region in the northwest that has been largely cut off from power, gas, and the internet, has asked for 100,000 tents.
